My Pink Stamper Design Team Challenge

Oh how I would love to join the design team. Here is my creation. I used Stretch your Imagination Cricut cartridge for the tree, and Plantin SchoolBook Cartridge for the many hearts. For the label i used stampin up punch Decorative Label Extra-Large, and the scalloped oval.
Pink, Green and Brown are my favorite colors so this was perfect. Fingers crossed that I get to join such a great team.

3 in 1 Challenge - Stuck on U sketches, Frosted designs, Practical Scrappers

Hi Folks,
Can I tell you how much I loved this challenge. Please visit Stuck on u sketches , Frosted designs , and Practical Srappers to see all the details and join in on the fun.

The layout was perfect for the picture I had in mind, and of course it helps if you have some cute kiddies to photograph.
I used some my mind's eye, Jen Wilsons 29th street market paper for the background, and Celebrate by michelle coleman from Fancy Pants for the cut out. The ribbon all came from Target, Gotta love the $1 deals, and the OWL I wish I could remember who made it, but I removed it from the package and threw away the label so if anyone knows, please let me know. I did by the package at Target as well.
The photo is of my daughter at the pumpkin patch - Her and my son loved the corn bath. In fact I'm still finding corn here and there in the house, they somehow managed to bring some home.
I hope you enjoy this page, I loved scrapping it with my sister-in-law, who by the way created an incredible page that she hasn't posted yet.

CUPCAKE Craft Challenge - # 64

This card was created for the cupcake craft challenge #64.Have a look at their site Cupcake Craft Challenge I used the cuttlebug embossing folder with love because I just can't get enough of this folder, and embossed the three strips below the main background. I used the hero arts stamp bright, and delight in life from stamping up for the 2 step stamp flower.
Enjoy

MoxiFabWorld Challenge - PLUM CRAZY

Getting back into the swing of things, here is a card that I made for the Moxi Fab World Challenge that is PLUM CRAZY!! Check them out moxiefabworld
This card had to capture the essence of plum.
Using Elegant eggplant cardstock from stamping up! and the 2007 delight in life stamp set also from stampin up I put together this FAB card. Or I like to think it is fab. I ran the small section to the right through a cuttlebug embossing folder called with love. I then colored in the embossed flowers with watercolors.
The ribbon was from making memories, and the pearl embellishments came from recollections.
I hope you enjoy.

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES AND FUN

Here they are, the long awaited halloween costumes that I put everything on hold for:-)
We were Dr. Suess's cat in the hat. The cat, Thing 1 and Thing 2, goldfish, and of course I was MOM. The gorilla I did not make, and was worn by my father-in-law. I think he had fun. Thing 1 and Thing 2 were made from a red knit material, The front sections I made in photoshop and ironed on. The hair was made from teal boas. I made a head piece then stitched the boas to it wrapping it around. The cat in the hat was a challenge, the majority of it was made from felt, and fleece. I used iron on pellon which I had never heard of to create the rim of the hat, it helped to stiffen it and keep it upright. The feet on all the outfits, have a leather bottom so they could wear shoes if they wanted. The face was the most challenging after the hat. It took me a few designs and tries. Oh the joy of creating without a pattern. Oh and the goldfish, that was fun. From the time I started the costume to the time I finished my daughter had grown two inches and hardly fit. Luckily we were able to get her in. I hope you enjoy them. We had a blast.

Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #83

I loved this layout so much I just had to do a card. I have limited time with Halloween just around the corner. I'm making all of our family halloween costumes and have only created my patterns, but have not yet cut the material. I won't tell you just yet what we are all going to be but I'll post a photo of our costumes from last year that I made. Here is the card and layout. Thank you Taylored expressions, I love this sketch. Oh, I should also mention that my son has hidden my mono tape so I had to magically piece this card together. I sure hope I find it soon. Baby Avery Frame

I've taken a small break from the challenges to complete a gift for my friends daughter.

I used a simple shadow box and co-ordinated cardstock from joann's. I used two stamp sets from Stampin up, Perfect princess, and Once upon a time. I originally purchased the build a fairy-tale from Stampin up, where I got the idea for the shadow box, but really didn't like the designer paper they used, the size they chose, or the difficulty in taking it apart. So here is what I did, I scanned the images, brought them into inkscape, created a .SCUT file, and was able to cut the image in any size, and on any paper on the cricut. The build-a-fairy-tale, I'm sad to say, is on the retired list. The clouds and the princess got some bling bling by adding glitter. The colors that were chosen match a section of material from the bumper covers of my friends baby room. I can't wait to see what photo she chooses to put in it.

Enjoy!!

Baby Announcement

This was the baby announcement that was created for my daughter Chelsea. Thank you to my Stampin UP! group for helping me create them.

The design idea came from Stampin Up! With some modification to colors and ribbon.
You can find it in the spring-summer 2009 catalog on pg. 143.

The design I created uses chocolate chip, pale plum, and Lavender Lace color cardstock.

The entire front image is attached to a medium size envelope with the top removed and a circle punch used for the tab.
A scallop edge punch was used for the top and bottom of the chocolate chip cardstock.

Thank you card

This card was created using the stamping up "definitely decorative daisy", and "Best Blossoms stamp sets. The stitching was done by hand and the colors are the Stampin Up! YoYo yellow, and Only orange.

Valentines Day Card

This was a simple card I completed for Valentines Day. I had several variations, including one with sequins.
